Fantastic fundraiser – Lisa Lockhart
Lisa Lockhart has been fundraising for Pretty ‘n Pink Breast Cancer Charity over the last couple of months with help from her family and friends. Lisa had her own personal reasons for supporting Pretty ‘n Pink. Lisa was diagnosed with breast cancer in October 2016 and is currently 18 months in remission.
I want to try and raise as much money as possible for the charity Pretty ‘n Pink. They are a charity that offers practical help and support to breast cancer patients and their families across Northern Ireland.
She kicked off her fundraising on 24th March 2019. To help and support Lisa, Digger Whiteside and Gary Shields hosted a charity afternoon at the the Pony Club, Malvern Street Belfast. Glentoran legends Paul Leeman, Tommy Leeman, Raymond Morrison and Darren Lockhart attended this event to show their support. This event was a huge success and raised an incredible £740.00.
Lisa had another fundraising idea up her sleeve, which again was a massive success. A special charity football match was held on Sunday 28th April 2019, at Dundela’s Wilgar Park ground in East Belfast. Glentoran Legends -v- Irish League Legends. A big thank you to Digger and Philip Stevenson for bringing the two teams together for the day.
The Charity football match was followed by an afternoon of entertainment. The Glentoran legends went PINK for charity football match. Some of the Legends who put on their boots on the day include Paul Leeman, Mark Glendinning, Michael Halliday, Tommy Leeman, Rab McCreery and Jimmy Cleary.
Lisa got designed special limited edition pink kits for the legends to wear which were also sold and raised £1,200.00. They also received donations and auctioned off a framed photograph of the Irish Cup final against Linfield which raised £400.00. Pretty ‘n Pink were presented with one of the limited edition pink shirts, signed by all Glentoran Legends who took part and supported Lisa’s event.
Lisa raised an amazing £4,190.00 between these events.
